Juniors

Does your child aspire to compete?

Some Juniors come to us with the fire to compete while others build the confidence and choose to test their skills later. Competition is of course optional and requires a rigorous training schedule. If your child falls in love with Muay Thai and wants to test their abilities, we have an active Juniors competition team.
When Coach feels your child is ready, we will approach the parents/guardian and ask if that is something you have considered or are interested in. Keep in mind we have specific criteria that your child must meet to compete…

Requirements:

• Display proper technique and fundamentals
• Expectational behavior in class and outside of class (school & home)
• School grades all passing (please bring quarterly report cards)
• PMT shorts & shirt
• Show up ready to give 100% at every practice

Being a competitor is not just about fighting, it is a responsibility. We are choosing your child to represent us because we feel they have displayed good technique, great leadership skills and consistency in their attendance to class. Understand as a competitor your child will be looked up to by many others in our gym, and even by other gyms. Because of this we expect them to continue to have great leadership skills and display excellent sportsmanship inside and outside of the gym.

Headgear, Mouthpiece, Shin pads, Gloves, Groin protector, running shoes, chest protector

Teens competition team (12yo-17yo)

Our teens team was established in April 2023. Since then, we have won 2 amateur championship belts and have competed in several National tournaments. PMT is known for our aggressive, clinch heavy style. Similar in structure to our other competition teams you must meet specific criteria to be considered for the competition team. If your teen is interested in competing, please inquire with a coach.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Display control and accuracy in sparring
• Maximum effort in class
• Behavior in and out of class (school & home)
• School grades all passing (quarterly report cards)
• Gear requirements
• PMT shorts & shirt

Adults competition team Amateur & Pro

Our Adults competition team was established in 2021. Over the span of two years our Adults team has fought all over the Nation and Internationally in Mexico, Australia and Thailand. We have won 6 championship titles and placed silver and bronze in various tournaments. Our Adults competition team ranges in ages 18yo-35 years old. Their experience ranges from less than one year training to over 10 years training. We have novice level amateurs. We have fighters with previous experience from other gyms and we have home grown fighters all are proud to represent Pinto Muay Thai.

The criteria for Adult competition is slightly different in its process depending on your experience level… Please speak with a coach if you aspire to compete.
